Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineering – Engineer to support the development and implementation of new model preparation across North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs), with this role based at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK).

In this role, you will help deliver best-in-industry assembly equipment by focusing on team member safety, highest product quality, and efficient use of automation technologies to reduce non-value-added work. Reporting to the FAE Manager, you will contribute to advancing Final Assembly Engineering objectives through strong execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will play a key role in preparing manufacturing operations for future vehicle programs by partnering with plant and engineering teams to ensure seamless model launches. Success in this role means delivering efficient assembly processes, driving equipment innovation, and supporting high-quality production outcomes across NAMCs.

  • Lead project planning activities with Plant Model Change teams and Final Assembly Engineering to prepare for upcoming model launches
  • Evaluate model change impacts to assembly processes and define technical equipment requirements that enable efficient, high-quality production
  • Support the development of new production engineering technologies and collaborate with vendors to enhance manufacturing capabilities
  • Lead assembly equipment projects from concept through launch across North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FAE Project Leaders, Pilot teams, Logistics, Maintenance, Internal Logistics Engineering, and PEPD to drive alignment and execution
  • Build strong working relationships across Toyota’s engineering and manufacturing network to deliver integrated solutions
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry supporting engineering, manufacturing, or production-related activities
  • 1+ years of experience in Assembly Engineering within a production or manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience in vehicle performance engineering with the ability to apply learnings to assembly process improvements
  • Ability to travel up to 30% across North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs) and Japan to support production activities
  • Ability to work up to 20% overtime as required, including occasional weekends or extended hours during peak production periods, as well as support during summer and year-end model change cycles and holidays
Added Bonus If You Have
  • Experience developing equipment technical specifications for vendor execution
  • Experience supporting vehicle model change activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and managing key project inputs and outputs
  • Experience improving team member safety through process or equipment enhancements
  • Exposure to Toyota systems such as Toyota Vehicle Electric Check System (TVECS)
