Job Description

• Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and ICD templates
• Develop & Maintain commodity specific documentation
• Generate and Maintain Global subsystem/component technical specifications templates (SSTS/CTS)
• Lead resolution of technical issues
• Close the Loop on learnings by updating required information (Best Practices, GM Specifications, Statement of Requirements, Template, etc.) and documenting progress in Problem Resolution Tracking System
• Work cross‑functionally within GM, coordinating multiple suppliers
• Lead/manage supplier resident engineers
• Support sourcing activities
• Generate technical solutions for current, new and major programs
• Perform complex design analysis
• Initiate documents to provide engineering authority and to maintain math/CAD data
• Work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programs
• Validate your module

• 2+ years of related experience
• Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming
• Understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules
• Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications
• Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements
• Knowledge of software verification/validation processes
• Knowledge of testing and associated tools
• Capability to translate text based functional requirements into software algorithms and models
• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
• BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science
