Controls Engineer

Columbus, Ohio area or open to relo

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing controls
• Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC experience (programming PLCs from scratch)
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical components, AC/DC motors/drives, and PLCs
• PLC & HMI programming experience with:
• Siemens (Simatic Manager, TIA Portal)

• Design, coordinate, and execute electrical and automation projects
• Lead electrical upgrades and new installations
• Provide technical support to facilities (onsite and remote)
• Identify automation opportunities (robotics, data collection, energy savings, efficiency, safety)
• Ensure automated systems meet production needs
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Services, Maintenance, and Production teams

• Design electrical enclosures, sub-panel layouts, and wiring diagrams per UL/CUL/CSA and NFPA
  79 standards
• Review designs from other engineers
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) on panels and equipment
• Maintain accurate software, programs, drawings, and files
• Develop and review electrical panel designs
• Write PLC, HMI, and drive programs (expert-level PLC programming)
• Provide startup training for operators and maintenance teams
• Create bills of materials
• Travel within US and Canada (~35%)
• Provide local and remote plant support
• Lead acceptance testing and debugging of OEM equipment
• Manage installation contractors and mentor other Controls Engineers
