Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Position Summary:

Power Built is actively pursuing a qualified individual for our Engineering team to assist with various ergonomic, mechanical and structural projects. The position of mechanical design engineer will be over all designs of other engineers and is responsible for setting design standards within the department.

Some of the tasks typical for this position:

• Design Lift Assist manipulators, clamps, below-the-hook devices, conveyors, racks, etc.
• Research and specification of parts and components
• Draft models of various mechanical and structural projects
• Produce layout and details drawings, including parts lists and BOM
• Perform field verifications, measurements & project site visits
• Development of Power Built standard products
• Day to day management of designs within the department
• Lead high level engineering projects

Requirements:

• 4-year College Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced Solid Works Design and Drafting experience
• Industrial and/or manufacturing experience
• Familiar with mechanical components such as actuators, gears, pivots, pneumatics, cylinders
• Peer management experience
• Project Management
• AutoCAD and/or CATIA experience helpful
• Competent with Excel, Word, Power Point
• Able to Multi-task
• Good organizational skills
• High attention to detail
