Powertrain Digital Engineer
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide Digital Engineering (DE) support for Powertrain Unit projects. The role focuses on production preparation elements for Internal Combustion Engines, Hybrid Transmissions, Axles, and other potential Powertrain components. The aim is to enhance the completeness and quality of process and equipment planning activities to reduce manufacturing costs and production preparation lead-time.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise product operation drawings in AutoCAD, collaborating with the Production Engineering team.
- Develop and maintain production line layouts in AutoCAD, working with Production and Production Engineering Groups, including detailed equipment and utility installation drawings.
- Perform 3D model comparisons and overlays using software like Catia or other 3D applications.
- Render and evaluate 3D building and equipment models for project studies using Navisworks, Revit, and other software packages.
- Conduct production line simulations to confirm line capacity and identify areas for process improvements.
- Collect and evaluate point cloud scan data to support project studies.
- Investigate new tools to improve current Production Engineering job accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the organization in optimizing and advancing activities from concept/feasibility planning through manufacturing site activity for process and equipment validation.
Essential
Skills:
- Experience in project management, including planning, time management, coordination, and reporting.
- Experience in creating and interpreting product drawings, process drawings, and equipment models.
- Intermediate to advanced capability in CAD software such as Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Navisworks, Vault, Revit, and ReCap.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- B.S. in Engineering preferred, or Technical Degree in CAE with 3+ years of experience in CAE.
- Expertise in Autodesk applications, particularly AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor Professional, Vault/Vault Data Structure, Revit, ReCap, and Navisworks.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, specifically powertrain assembly in high-volume, automated production.
- Experience in manufacturing equipment and process specification.
- Creo experience and point cloud data utilization is a bonus.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
