Sehlhorst Equipment Services is seeking a motivated
Layout Engineer Co-op to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a college student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field to gain hands‑on, real‑world experience supporting the design and layout of equipment, facilities, and production systems.
- Assist in creating and revising equipment and facility layout drawings using CAD software
- Support space planning and workflow optimization projects
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to gather layout requirements
- Help develop and update 2D/3D models and technical drawings
- Participate in site visits and measurements to verify existing conditions
- Assist with documentation, redlines, and drawing revisions
Support project teams with technical research and data collection - Present findings or project updates to team members as needed
- Currently enrolled in a college/university program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing preferred
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor, or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
