PRICING MANAGER
Overview:
The Pricing Manager will support the Senior Director – Finance in building and executing a global pricing strategy that aligns to market dynamics, customer value, and profitability goals. This role will synthesize customer, competitive, and market intelligence into actionable insights that inform pricing strategy – from segmentation and value differentiation to transaction-level price setting. The analyst will own and continuously improve the price model, ensuring data accuracy, strategic alignment, and operational readiness.
The Pricing Manager will serve as a key link between commercial strategy and financial performance, ensuring pricing recommendations balance market competitiveness, value creation, and cost/margin realization.
- Gather and analyze customer, competitive, and market data to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
- Support segmentation efforts across customers, markets, and product lines to enable differentiated pricing and targeted offers.
- Own and continuously develop analytical models to estimate willingness to pay and value perception by market segment.
- Leverage the price model to validate cost structures, list prices, discount logic, and rebate mechanisms – keep insights current as business cycles continue.
- Continuously refine the model to incorporate updated market intelligence, strategy shifts, and margin goals.
- Partner with IT and Finance to ensure integration with CRM and internal blast reporting systems.
- Support list price setting, market-based adjustments, and customer-level deal modeling.
- Analyze product and customer profitability to recommend differentiated price points.
- Ensure pricing reflects both value-based and cost-based considerations while maintaining competitiveness.
- Monitor and report on price realization, margin attainment, and profitability trends.
- Analyze price performance versus plan and identify root causes of leakage or erosion.
- Evaluate and recommend adjustments to rebates, volume discounts, and other incentive mechanisms.
- Determine executive-level dashboards, reports, and summaries that visualize pricing trends, market response, and competitive positioning.
- Provide data-driven insights to senior management and cross-functional teams to guide decision‑making.
- Translate complex pricing data into clear recommendations and business narratives.
- Partner closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure pricing strategy execution aligns with commercial objectives.
- Work with Product and Commercial teams to incorporate product positioning, promotions, and segmentation insights into pricing plans.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure pricing accounts for input costs and logistics impacts.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong quantitative skills, able to interpret data to drive pricing decisions.
- Commercial Acumen: Understands the link between price, cost, and value in industrial markets.
- Systems & Tools Expertise: Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and pricing or CPQ systems.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Skilled at translating data into business insight for non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Change and improvement‑based mindset to enhance models, methods, and metrics for ongoing performance optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, Statistics, Accounting or related field.
- 4‑7 years of experience in pricing analysis, financial modeling, or revenue management.
- Experience working with Excel, Power BI, financial analytics, and data visualization.
- Strong understanding of cost structures, margin analysis, and value-based pricing.
- Proficient communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or capital-intensive B2B industries.
- Exposure to mining, quarry, or explosives sectors.
- Familiarity with pricing optimization software or CPQ systems.
