Minimum 8 hours/week, Monday–Friday between 8AM – 4PM.

Job OverviewThe Office of Contracts and Acquisitions (OCA) is housed within the Office of Legal and Acquisition Services and provides expertise for creating agreements, contracts, and overseeing procurement of goods and services for ODJFS. This internship will provide support and learning opportunities in procurement and contracting functions within state government.
What You Will Do- Independently conduct initial procurement checks for contract and grant agreements.
- Create presentations, e.g., training slides, monthly status meetings, staff meetings, retreats.
- Prepare documentation such as journey maps, job aids, and RACI charts.
- Develop and maintain OCA toolkits that assist internal customers with self‑service access to standard tools and templates for procurement, contracting, and sourcing.
- Participate in procurement projects and initiatives.
- Learn about Federal and State laws, rules, and procedures for acquisitions and contracting.
Assess your interest level for a career in sourcing, procurement and contracting.
TravelThere may be opportunities for in‑state travel.
Preferred Qualifications- Interest in public service.
- Major in public administration, business administration, engineering, or logistics.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university, in good academic standing. Proof of enrollment (current transcript) required upon selection.
- Completed at least one academic year of college.
- 18 years old at start of employment.
