Position: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH WORKER/MENTAL HEALTH WORKER II

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH WORKER (Mental Health Worker II)

Responsible for proper implementation of the treatment plan and evaluates symptoms and progress within Family Services. Provides services to individuals and families as required and implements the daily schedule of activities.

Education

Minimum:
Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Activity Therapies

Preferred: N/A

Registration/Certification/Licensure

Act 33/73 clearances and Healthcare Provider CPR

Experience

Minimum:
None.

Preferred:
Prior mental health experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing:
    Frequently required.
  • Walking:
    Frequently required.
  • Sitting:
    Frequently required.
  • Stooping, Bending, Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Crouching, Crawling:
    Frequently required.
  • Climbing, Using stairs:
    Occasional.

  • Working with hands in water, exposure to noise:
    Frequently required.
  • Working alone, Constant interruptions, Working with blood borne pathogens:

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement program activities in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with children and interact professionally with families referred to the program.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with other staff to ensure continuity of services.
  • Assist therapists in evaluating patients’ symptoms and progress daily and document results accurately.
  • Adhere to programmatic guidelines, maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, and assist in safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic knowledge of mental health treatment principles and practices.
  • Proficient in documentation requirements and use of electronic health record systems.
  • Physical capability to meet the physical demands described above.
