Job Title
Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Assists radiologist with interventional procedures as ordered. (eg; paracenthesis, needle aspirations/biopsy, etc)
Minimum Education
Associate's Degree Required
Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasonography Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Required Skills
Certifications:
Must be certified in one of the following: (within 10 days of hire) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT
Sonography (S)
Vascular Sonography (VS)
ARRT (R) with a KY License
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
