Front Desk Agent - 2nd Shift (Part Time) – Holiday Inn Express, Dry Ridge KY

Guest Service Agents are responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing outstanding service during their stay, and settling the guest's account upon departure. Primary responsibilities include registering guests, making and modifying reservations, and maximizing revenue and occupancy.

• Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service‑oriented manner.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, wearing the proper uniform and name tag as required.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling standards.
• Comply with all company policies, standards, and regulations.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and meet performance standards.
• Handle information requests for mail and messages efficiently and courteously.
• Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and operating hours.
• Provide information on restaurants, transportation, entertainment, and special promotions.
• Know all rate packages, special promotions, and restricted dates.
• Gather necessary information for room reservations and follow rate‑quoting scenarios.
• Know company policies, house rules, and hospitality terminology.
• Assist with emergency procedures as needed.
• Handle check‑ins and check‑outs efficiently and courteously.
• Use the Front Desk computer system competently.
• Use proper two‑way radio etiquette when communicating with other associates.
• Deliver guest items such as luggage, newspapers, messages, and amenities upon request.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of property amenities, special events, and local attractions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.
• Be familiar with the brand loyalty program, levels, and awards.
• Assist with breakfast operations when requested or needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in related fields helpful.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and problem‑solve in various situations.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Quick decision making and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work well under stressful, high‑pressure conditions.
• Proactive problem‑identification and resolution skills.
• Strong listening skills and ability to clarify issues with co‑workers and guests.
• Basic numerical operation skills.
• Willingness to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Understanding of hotel products and guest services (e.g., full‑service resort, lifestyle).
• Team‑spirit and ability to create an enjoyable work environment.
