Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet Captain with outstanding leadership skills to assist in overseeing banquet operations under the Banquet Manager's direction. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team. As Banquet Captain, you will supervise staff, coordinate event details, and ensure exceptional guest experiences while reporting to and collaborating closely with the Banquet Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, and supervise banquet staff before, during, and after events as directed by the Banquet Manager
- Support the Banquet Manager in coordinating with event organizers, kitchen, and service staff to meet all event requirements
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events in accordance with company standards and client expectations
- Ensure timely and accurate service, addressing guest needs and promptly resolving any issues, escalating to Banquet Manager as needed
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service, and safety throughout the event
- Communicate event details and changes effectively with all team members and the Banquet Manager
- Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, reporting needs to the Banquet Manager
- Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event evaluations with the team under guidance from the Banquet Manager
- Foster a positive team environment and encourage professional development
- Conflict resolution and problem‑solving abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality service

Requirements- Proven experience in banquet or hospitality management
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is a plus
