Job Details
Compensation: Hourly base pay range $10-$13 per hour plus $5-$10 per hour in tips.
Work Schedule: The work schedule can include AM/PM shift times.
Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and the company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for benefits.
SUMMARYThe Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner, including parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely and assisting guests with luggage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Maintains a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients, acknowledges and greets guests within five feet, and uses guest last names during interactions. (25%)
- Uses appropriate salutation, welcomes guests to the location, practices proper phone etiquette, and posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks. (10%)
- Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed, and opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. (20%)
- Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions; delivers messages, items, or amenities as requested; and shuttles guests to approved locations. (10%)
- Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival; issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; consistently completes and maintains all ticket information (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipt); calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed. (35%)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state in which the position is located or be within commuting distance of the state.
- One (1) month related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Ability to read and write standard English language.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees.
- Basic arithmetic skills with numbers up to three digits and transactions involving American currency.
- Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems and applicable rates.
- Operation of a manual transmission is highly desirable; ability to perform parallel parking.
- Job is fairly routine; follows established practices and procedures. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines; errors in judgment could affect department efficiency.
- Control over available resources only.
- Regularly required to talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, run, walk, handle objects, reach with hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
- Lifting requirements: up to 100 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 20 lbs constantly.
- Work performed outdoors for extended periods, often in extreme heat or cold. Weather protection may be provided but not guaranteed.
- Travel may be required up to 5% of time.
