SAP ERP QA Lead

Position Overview

As an SAP ERP QA Lead at Cengage, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, performance, and stability of our SAP S/4

HANA ecosystem through well‑adapted testing, strong leadership, and best‑practice quality governance. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end QA delivery for large‑scale SAP implementation and enhancement projects, working closely with functional teams, technical collaborators, and business partners to ensure our ERP solutions are reliable and "fit for purpose."

• Quality Leadership & Strategy:
  Own and lead end‑to‑end QA strategy, processes, standards, and governance for SAP S/4
  
  HANA and integrated enterprise systems; define quality benchmarks, dashboards, and release‑readiness indicators.
• Functional & Integration Testing:
  Lead full‑cycle functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing across SAP modules; validate end‑to‑end business processes and coordinate with other QA teams for cross‑platform validation.
• Automation & Framework Ownership:
  Enhance, maintain, and scale automation frameworks for SAP UI, Fiori apps, APIs, and backend processes; identify automation candidates and evaluate ROI.
• Agile Delivery &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Participate in sprint planning, release planning, and deployment preparations; collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, engineering and business participants to ensure test coverage; mentor QA team members.
• Quality Governance:
  Lead quality strategies, risk evaluations, and executive‑level updates; handle defect lifecycle, triage discussions, root‑cause analysis, and production validation.
• Vendor & Resource Management:
  Lead onshore/offshore QA vendors, set expectations, review work, plan resources, balance workloads, and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Business Partnership & UAT Leadership:
  Serve as primary QA interface for business partners; translate requirements into test scenarios and coordinate UAT preparation and execution.

• Must‑Have Qualifications (Non‑Negotiable)
  • 10‑12+ years of SAP testing experience across core functional areas (OTC or RTR).
  • 7+ years of experience leading test cycles (SIT, UAT, regression) within SAP programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SAP business processes, RICEF objects, and integration flows.
  • Hands‑on experience writing test strategies, plans, cases, traceability matrices.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Agile/Scrum delivery, defect triage, risk assessment, and reporting.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder‑management, analytical, and testing skills.
• Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
  • Familiarity with APIs, middleware, Fiori, or work streams like PTP.
  • Experience with SAP automation frameworks or automated testing tools.
  • Prior experience mentoring QA professionals or leading distributed teams.
  • Understanding of testing across connected ecosystems (eCommerce, CRM, billing, subscription platforms).
  • Experience building quality dashboards, critical metrics, or release‑readiness reports.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as Zephyr.

Base pay range: $88,600.00 – $ USD. Compensation may vary based on schedule, qualifications, experience, equity, and location. Sales roles may include additional incentive compensation.
