We are seeking an experienced Senior Ignition Developer to design, develop, and support industrial automation and SCADA solutions using the Ignition platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing, industrial systems integration, MES/SCADA architectures, and real-time operational data systems. This role involves leading Ignition development projects, collaborating with controls engineers and operations teams, and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable industrial software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy SCADA/MES/HMI applications using Ignition.
- Build and maintain Ignition Perspective and Vision applications.
- Develop SQL database integrations, reporting systems, and historian solutions.
- Configure OPC-UA connectivity with PLCs, RTUs, and industrial devices.
- Integrate industrial automation systems with enterprise applications such as ERP, MES, CMMS, and cloud platforms.
- Develop scripting solutions using Python/Jython within Ignition.
- Create reusable templates, UDTs, alarming strategies, and tag structures.
- Troubleshoot SCADA, network, and industrial communication issues.
- Support commissioning, testing, and startup activities at manufacturing or industrial sites.
- Mentor junior developers and establish development standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls engineers, IT, operations, and project managers.
- Document system configurations, architectures, and support procedures.
- Ensure cybersecurity and compliance standards are followed in OT environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ignition Gold or Core Certification.
- Experience with:
- Edge computing
- Cloud integrations (AWS, Azure)
- Docker or virtualization
- CI/CD pipelines for industrial applications
- Familiarity with:
- Kepware
- Factory Talk
- Experience in manufacturing sectors such as food & beverage, automotive, pharmaceuticals, energy, or mining.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks for OT/ICS environments.
