Description:

The Omnichannel Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise architecture strategy that powers Arhaus’ end-to-end retail ecosystem. This role will drive the technical vision and integration of e-commerce, store systems, fulfillment, and customer experience platforms to enable seamless, scalable omnichannel journeys.

This individual will partner closely with engineering, product, operations, and business leadership to design and deliver modern retail architecture solutions that support growth, innovation, and an exceptional customer experience across digital and physical channels.

The Omnichannel Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in shaping the technology ecosystem that supports Arhaus’ retail and customer experience strategy. This role provides architectural leadership, establishes integration standards, and ensures system scalability, reliability, and performance across all channels.

Key fundamental skill sets and responsibilities include:

  • Define and govern enterprise-wide omnichannel architecture across ecommerce, stores, fulfillment, and customer experience domains
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions supporting retail commerce and operational systems
  • Establish architectural standards, integration frameworks, and governance processes across platforms
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical oversight for major initiatives and system enhancements
  • Drive integration strategy across Shopify Ecommerce, Shopify POS, and Manhattan OMS/WMS platforms to ensure real-time synchronization of order, inventory, and customer data
  • Define API-first and event-driven integration patterns, including middleware and data flow design
  • Architect solutions supporting pricing, promotions, personalization, loyalty, and customer engagement
  • Design and enable unified customer profiles through CRM integration across all channels
  • Ensure consistent and seamless customer experiences across in-store, mobile, and digital touchpoints
  • Lead multi-cloud architecture strategy across Azure and GCP, including compute, data platforms, and event streaming
  • Partner with Dev Ops and engineering teams to establish CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and platform engineering standards
  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors, including leading RFPs, proof-of-concepts, and build-vs-buy analyses
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as reference architectures, ADRs, and integration blueprints
  • Partner with Information Security to ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, data privacy, and access control standards
  • Mentor engineering teams and influence architectural best practices across the organization

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or architecture, including 4+ years in an enterprise or solutions architect role
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern retail commerce platforms, including Shopify Plus/Enterprise
  • Proven expertise integrating order management and warehouse management systems (e.g., Manhattan OMS/WMS) in omnichannel environments
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP), including compute, storage, event streaming, API management, and identity management
  • Expertise in modern integration patterns, including API-first architecture, event-driven systems, REST/Graph

    QL APIs, and real-time data synchronization
  • Experience architecting CRM integrations to enable unified customer data and lifecycle marketing
  • Knowledge of CDN architecture, edge caching, and web performance optimization
  • Demonstrated experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization strategies
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications within commerce or supply chain environments (e.g., personalization, forecasting, or automation)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
