Consultant, Business Analysis

Overview

Business Analysis in Cardinal Health Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. The role anticipates, plans, and delivers IT solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value. Business Analysis serves as a liaison between the organization’s businesses and IT systems development teams to align business strategies and capability needs and to ensure IT systems enable their desired value.

• Elicit and translate complex business needs into clear user stories and functional specifications, while maintaining a healthy story backlog.
• Map end‑to‑end processes, ensuring requirements align with project scope and strategy.
• Mediate and foster collaboration across IT teams to design and deliver solutions, leveraging existing capabilities.
• Lead testing, verification, and validation of requirements and solutions, creating test plans and scripts as needed.
• Triage product issues and coordinate timely resolution with relevant teams.
• Write SQL for testing, verification, and ad‑hoc data requests.
• Actively participate in all Agile development lifecycle phases and lead Agile ceremonies such as stand‑ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
• Partner with stakeholders (e.g., Regulatory, Quality) to translate needs into technical solutions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 5+ years as an IT Functional or Systems Analyst in a corporate environment preferred, with familiarity in custom‑developed web applications.
• Exceptional communication, listening, and presentation skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
• Solid understanding of database concepts and hands‑on experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Proven ability to thrive in Agile environments, demonstrating strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong Jira experience for user story management, sprint/release planning, tracking, and report/dashboard creation.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and passionate about continuous learning and professional development.
• Familiarity with managing or solutioning applications within cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) is a plus.
