Our client, a U.S.

-based infrastructure services organization, delivers end-to-end water infrastructure renewal solutions across municipal and industrial environments. The business operates as a vertically integrated platform, focused on driving operational performance, safety, and scalable growth across regions.

The Managing Director will oversee a defined operating area, with full responsibility for P&L, project execution, and team leadership. This role plays a critical part in aligning field operations with financial targets while building the structure and accountability needed to support continued regional growth.

The Environment

This role operates within a field-driven construction and infrastructure services environment, supporting trenchless pipeline rehabilitation and utility-related projects. The Managing Director works closely with project management, operations, and estimating teams to ensure consistent execution.

The environment is fast-paced and performance-driven, requiring strong leadership, financial discipline, and the ability to manage multiple active projects. Travel is required, especially early on, to support operations and client engagement.

Key Focus Areas & What Success Looks Like

Success for the Area Director includes:

  • Strong financial performance, including P&L, forecasting, and EBITDA targets
  • Consistent project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Effective leadership of PMs, operations, and field teams
  • Accurate planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across projects
  • Strong customer relationships and stakeholder communication
  • Alignment across operations, estimating, and leadership teams
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, civil, or infrastructure services
  • Experience in heavy construction, pipeline, or underground utility projects
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and forecasting
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and project execution
  • Experience with contract administration and bid review processes
  • Background in trenchless or utility-related environments preferred
