To serve as the major administrative officer of the College of Education and Human Services, providing vision and strategic leadership, with complete line responsibility for personnel, general administration and management, budget, academic, and development functions. Reports to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Provide vision and strategic leadership, instructions, guidance, and/or counsel to College faculty, staff, and administrators; resolve problems at the college level.

Administer the College-wide personnel function to include ensuring compliance with various federal and state laws, and University and College personnel policies and procedures.

Provide leadership in strategic planning.

Manage, allocate, and monitor collegial budgets; make budget requests to Executive Officers; provide advice on budgets and fiscal management.

Provide leadership and oversight to all academic programs; encourage and support continuous improvement of programs and curriculum; evaluate and approve all curricular changes, advising functions, and student recruitment and retention actions and initiatives; develop and review curricular and programmatic initiatives; enforce policies and practice required for State approval of licensure programs and continuing national accreditation.

Manage College-wide resource acquisition and utilization.

Foster development activities; cultivate and solicit individual donors, foundations, and corporations; provide assistance to individual school directors in development initiatives, proposals, case studies, etc.

Plan and engage in alumni activities.

Represent College to University administration; represent College at appropriate University bodies, committees, councils, etc.; serve as College advocate and spokesperson at academic, social, and public functions; maintain community service activities.

Build and maintain appropriate relationships with constituencies; cultivate formal partnerships for mutual benefit.

Leadership and oversight of multiple large/complex departments and/or assists in the oversight of a major division.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Doctoral or other terminal degree from an accredited institution in one of the disciplines represented in the college (or related field) with an academic record sufficient to qualify for faculty appointment at full professor level. Seven years of significant administrative experience in an academic setting. Highly distinguished performance within one or more of the disciplines represented in the college.
