Who we’re looking forToyota’s Production Engineering Battery Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineering Technician (Seibi Technician).
The primary responsibility of this position is to execute as the North American initial machine set‑up personnel (SV), increase Operation Availability (OA) through continuous improvement and problem‑solving technical issues. This role will also support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Start of Production (SOP) by modifying machine function and design.
This position will be located at Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) in Liberty, NC and report to the Seibi Manager for Battery.

What you’ll be doing- Test and repair electrical equipment or systems (involving circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, etc.).
- Write programs and modify existing programs for programmable logic controllers (PLC), robots, cameras, safety systems, and other electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair machine components of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Plan and execute machine integration into mass production. (Leveling, adjustment and quality conformation for assigned work area).
- Perform basic administrative skills including documentation of work performed by written/electronic methods.
- Problem‑solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Develop detailed schedule for assigned work area/project.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new processes by different means.
- Support machine trials at vendors and internal Toyota locations.
- Certify safety of equipment per the standards via “Safety Integrity Check.”
- Industrial Controls Engineering/Engineering technical experience in a manufacturing environment, including equipment installation, modification, and optimization.
- Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with PLC.
- Technical experience with relay logic including wiring and troubleshooting.
- Availability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and shutdowns, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 30%.
- The candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation, including the ability to:
- Stand, stoop, and walk throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant for many hours of the day.
- Ascend & descend stairs throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant.
- Bend, kneel, and crawl to gain access to equipment for repair.
- Lift, push, and pull 25 pounds in a one‑time event.
- Technical associate degree or higher.
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting and schematic reading.
- Working experience with servo motion controllers (M‑Code or SFC).
- Experience in pre‑production set‑up.
- Experience gathering and analyzing quality data from multiple sources to determine root cause.
- Experience with high volume production in a clean room environment.
