Responsibilities- Perform setup of manual machines and tool and offset changes on CNC machines.
- Under general supervision, complete tasks as directed by SOPs, routers, prints, work instructions and manufacturing schedules.
- Operate machining equipment with an understanding of machining and metal removal concepts which may include milling, turning, grinding and other methods.
- Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers and micrometers.
- Adhere to dimensions and tolerances found on prints. May use prints and sketches to determine proper methods and processes.
- Perform basic machine set up.
- Perform basic selection and care of special machine tools such as drills, jigs, mills, lathes and fixtures.
- Diagnose basic machine problems using proper diagnostic tools.
- Learn the maintenance of CNC program files.
- Maintain machine maintenance files.
- Rework production parts and perform emergency rework and/or modification of production parts as directed.
- Modify basic existing processes if necessary.
- Inspect basic prototypes, machines prototype fixtures and First Article components.
- Perform in-process checks using measuring devices and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department lead person or supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Train other employees.
- Work on projects as part of a team, exchanging ideas and contributing skills that complement those of other team members. Fulfill commitments to team members.
- Perform assembly, deburring, and other duties as required.
Shift: 2nd shift 2:30pm - 11pm / 8% differential.
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of related experience with trade school certification preferred where applicable.
- Full knowledge of machinist role and substantial acquaintance with and understanding of the machining of routine parts.
- Understanding of FDA device manufacturing requirements.
Pay Range: $22.79 - $30.77 USD Hourly. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and individual factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Employees may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
