Description

Established in 1964, Custom Materials, Inc. is a proven source for the custom fabrication of electrical insulation and components. We personally serve major manufacturers and suppliers of electrical power generation equipment, distribution equipment, and controls. Components range from the insulation used in transformers, motors and motor controls to precision parts for the aerospace, military, medical, renewable energy, and other demanding industries.

Custom Materials is seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Maker to join our team. As a Tool Maker you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing precision tools and machinery. You will work with a variety of materials, such as metals and plastics, to create tools that meet specific requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to create precision tools and parts.
  • Use a variety of tools and machinery, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate and shape components.
  • Inspect finished tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Repair and maintain existing tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve tool design and functionality.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and precision measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials used in tool making.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
