Job Description

This role is a Production Line Lead or Room Lead for the Night Shift (2-2-3 schedule) at Bob Evans Farms.

Business Unit Overview

Bob Evans Farms has delivered delicious, quick-to-table, farm-inspired food for over 75 years. They are a leading producer of refrigerated dinner sides, sausage, egg products, and other food items.

Responsibilities
  • Meet production goals and manage room performance and product run on Production Line (Cook, Mix Fill, Case Pack)
  • Support start-up and change-over actions while adhering to HACCP standards
  • Identify downtime causes and troubleshoot to reduce downtime
  • Collect production data and maintain accurate production paperwork
  • Operate machinery, set machine settings, and perform duties in the absence of employee
  • Verify procedures and quality checks are followed
  • Report recurring issues, concerns, and downtime to Line Lead or Shift Supervisor
  • Verify adherence to weight program
  • Coordinate training of new hires and current employees in the room
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform sanitation duties in the room
  • Other duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work knowledge of complete production line and understanding of Lean Management principles
  • Use computer applications including Microsoft products, Email, Oracle, Work order system
  • Apply GMP and safety procedures, accurate data tracking
  • Use basic math skills and plan workload according to production schedule
  • Recognize tasks, complete them, and occasional heavy lifting of raw ingredients (40‑60 lbs)
  • Operate pallet jack and powered lift
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs, sanitary conditions, and product quality
  • Report conditions affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management
  • Follow all SQF principles pertinent to position
Working Conditions
  • Facility may include controlled temperature zones and areas with refrigeration and noise levels requiring PPE
  • 100% facility environment, 0% office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Stand, walk, lift 100% of the time
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Recognition of new opportunities and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, attend off-site training
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, lift (25‑35 lbs), twist, climb, reach on a daily basis
