Whirlpool’s Ottawa Manufacturing plant is seeking dedicated Assemblers to join our world‑class production team. This facility is the premier hub for Whirlpool’s high‑end refrigeration line, specializing in the precision manufacturing of premium built‑in refrigerators and freezers.
As an Assembler, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, ensuring that every unit leaving our floor meets the iconic quality standards our customers expect. This position is dynamic and versatile, encompassing a wide range of production and specialized roles across multiple lines, including cell, conveyor, dryer, and commercial units.
Starting pay $20.75 per hour with a 3rd Shift premium: $1.00 per hour.
Your responsibilities will include- Assemble and install parts by hand or using tools/equipment.
- Perform assembly of components, sub‑assemblies, and final products using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment according to engineering blueprints.
- Operate, load, and unload various production machines including mounting machines, light machines, and specialized equipment.
- Execute electrical repair, salvage, and specialized wiring assembly to ensure product functionality and quality.
- Conduct final packing, finishing, and quality checks on products.
- Monitor equipment and finished products for quality control, troubleshoot minor issues, and perform relief/repair tasks as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area, adhering to all safety protocols and production standards.
- Continuously stand or walk (up to 12 hours per day).
- Bend, squat, and lift up to 35lbs frequently.
- Work on a moving/conveyor style production line or stabilized workstation.
- Assemble and install parts by hand or using tools/equipment.
- Crating and packaging of materials, parts, products, etc.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 18 years old or older.
- 1 year of consistent work history.
- 6 months of manufacturing work experience.
- 1+ years of consistent work experience.
- Up to 40+ hours of paid training.
- Up to 120 hours of paid time off (prorated based on start date).
