Position Overview
The Hydraulic Pump Technician is responsible for the repair, inspection, assembly, and testing of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and related hydraulic components. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical procedures while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and related subassemblies.
- Inspect all parts for wear, damage, and conformance to specifications.
- Diagnose hydraulic component failures and identify repair solutions.
- Measure components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure tolerances are met.
- Mount and connect components to test stands and perform operational and pressure testing.
- Prepare repair documentation including BOMs, stock reports, and inspection records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly maintain tools and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools and shop equipment.
- Ability to read measurements, calipers, micrometers, technical drawings, and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret operating instructions, procedure manuals, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and communicate issues.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform mechanical assembly work throughout the shift.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 40 lbs., with heavier lifting occasionally required.
- Exposure to hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, and chemicals.
- Must wear required PPE equipment.
