Perform a variety of tasks surrounding the set‑up and operation of a sewing machine that uses thread to bind a book together. The position also directs the workers on this machine.

• Set up and operate the sewing machine according to job specifications along with all safety, quality, productivity, and other Bindery Processes.
• Supervise the crew for safety, quality and machine productivity.
• Perform preventative maintenance measures as assigned.
• Perform general worker duties when not assigned to operator a machine.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Safety‑ Complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Monitors machine for hazards and reports any safety related concerns.

• Must possess critical thinking skills as well as problem solving skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to all work groups.
• Must be able to read, do basic math and work with basic tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc). Must have basic computer skills to work with Windows type applications.
• Must have a mechanical inclination and be able to do basic trouble shooting when the equipment is not functioning.
• Position of a high school diploma or GED is required.

• Prior experience on binder equipment preferred

• Ability to lift, carry, push and / or pull up to 50 lbs.

This role supports a high‑volume glass manufacturing operation by performing general production work, operating machinery, and handling materials safely and efficiently. You will contribute to the production of glass and glazing products by monitoring equipment, moving materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

• Operate production machinery and equipment used in glass manufacturing according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform general production tasks such as loading and unloading materials, staging products, and assisting with line operations.
• Handle and move glass products and related materials safely, including using forklifts or other material‑handling equipment as required.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify basic issues, and report any malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow production schedules and instructions to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including complying with all housekeeping and safety standards.
• Assist team members and support other production areas as needed to ensure continuous workflow.
