We are seeking a Dimensional Measurement Technician to support the Stamping Production Engineering team by performing precision measurements on stamping dies, body panels, and sub-assemblies using industry-leading contact and non-contact measurement equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring die quality and stamped panel accuracy for both current production and future vehicle programs.
If you have experience with 3D metrology, Poly Works, ATOS scanning, or Hexagon measurement systems, this is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive manufacturing projects.
Responsibilities- Perform dimensional inspections using ATOS 3D Scanners, Hexagon Absolute Arms, ARGUS, and precision hand measurement tools.
- Generate measurement reports, color maps, and analysis using Poly Works and WinCMM.
- Measure stamping dies to identify dimensional gaps and deviations from target specifications.
- Inspect Class A, underbody, and chassis stamping panels and sub-assemblies to evaluate dimensional accuracy and formability.
- Conduct PxP and nominal fit vehicle analysis, including digital PxP evaluations.
- Analyze measurement data and provide technical recommendations to the Stamping Production Engineering and Die/Mold teams.
- Support pre-production die development through panel forming predictability studies utilizing ARGUS analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve die quality and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Experience with dimensional inspection or metrology in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using one or more of the following:
- ATOS 3D Scanners
- Hexagon Absolute Arms
- Poly Works
- WinCMM
- ARGUS
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Automotive stamping or body manufacturing experience.
- Experience measuring stamping dies, body panels, or checking fixtures.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and panel quality evaluation.
- Familiarity with vehicle fit analysis and digital PxP.
