Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) is searching for a Development Officer to be a key member of our Advancement Team. The Development Officer is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of individual donors and prospects to support the organization’s fundraising goals and mission impact. This role manages the full donor lifecycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention of donors.

The Development Officer works collaboratively across departments to communicate meaningful impact stories that strengthen donor engagement and giving.

The position is full-time, working remotely within the Northeast Ohio region served by BGCNEO. The salary range for this position is $85k-$100k annually (commensurate with experience). This position offers a competitive benefits package, generous PTO & Holiday time, flexible working arrangements, and opportunity for professional growth The position reports to and receives direction from BGCNEO’s Senior Director of Advancement, executing assigned tasks to achieve organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 150 donors and prospects with an annual giving range of approximately $5,000 to $25,000; meet or exceed annual revenue and donor engagement goals
  • Develop strategies to retain, renew, and upgrade assigned donors and prospects through individualized engagement and timely stewardship
  • Qualify assigned prospects to determine philanthropic interests, giving capacity, readiness and appropriate next steps
  • Identify opportunities for planned gifts, multi-year commitments, sponsor ships, and other forms of support, and coordinate with leadership as appropriate
  • Create meaningful opportunities for donors to experience the mission through site visits, events, volunteer engagement, and conversations with staff and leadership
  • Maintain regular donor contact through meetings, calls, written communication, events and site visits
  • Track donor interactions, opportunities, and next steps within the donor database/CRM system
  • Manage the full donor lifecycle from prospect identification through stewardship and renewal
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new existing donors to meet annual fundraising goals
  • Prepare donor proposals, presentations, and gift requests aligned with organizational priorities
  • Partner with senior leadership and board members on donor engagement strategies when appropriate
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns, special events, and donor recognition activities
  • Collaborate with program staff and leadership to effectively leverage donor, youth, family and member success stories for fundraising purposes
  • Work closely with the grants and reporting personnel to ensure donor communications accurately reflect program outcomes and impact data
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications coordinator to align messaging and donor engagement efforts
  • Maintain accurate donor records, communication logs, and pipeline activity
  • Monitor portfolio performance and fundraising progress against established goals and metrics
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, or related field preferred
