Responsibilities
  • Administers medication (e.g., oral, intramuscular, and intravenous) and monitors patient medication compliance
  • Performs treatments and assists with nurse’s sick calls; assists with doctor’s sick calls
  • Manages chronic care clinics; responds to emergencies and provides emergency care including CPR
  • Performs subjective and objective assessments; collects vital signs and documents findings
  • Collects urine and other bodily fluid specimens; prepares patients for release or transfer by reviewing care and transfer summaries
  • Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services
  • Participates in training and institution exercises; provides assistance to other healthcare staff
  • Investigates problem areas, reviews shift reports, and assists physicians with medical procedures
  • Assumes duties of other nurses during absences; counsels patients on healthcare maintenance and disease prevention
  • Participates in quality assurance; provides training to new nurses and support staff
  • Serves as a resource for healthcare and security staff; provides orientation and training for new healthcare personnel
  • Acts as lead clinical authority in the absence of senior providers; participates in group programming and health initiatives
  • Performs administrative duties; schedules multidisciplinary team meetings; participates in shift planning and inventory of supplies
  • Assists ancillary staff to ensure patient care needs are met

Starting pay is approximately $78,000 based on location/shift assignments.

Qualifications

Requires current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.
