Job Description - RN – ICU – $5K Bonus – Nights )

Georgetown Community Hospital, a 12‑minute drive from Lexington, KY, is searching for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit. This is a night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) and you will be a member of a highly skilled team of critical care nurses, physicians, and technicians. Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing school, a current RN license, current BLS certification, and the ability to acquire ACLS and PALS certifications.

• Ensure delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• Revise the plan of care as needed.
• Provide compassion to patients and their family members.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.
• Every patient entering the unit is assessed and priorities of care are determined according to physical, psychological and assessed needs, with systematic and pertinent data collection.
• Ensure that necessary supplies and equipment are available for patient care.
• Assure the safety of patients, co‑workers, significant others, and oneself.
• Implement interventions in a safe and effective manner based on changing patient needs.
• Conduct teaching that includes providing information about the patient’s condition, responsibilities of patient and significant others, and recommendations for appropriate follow‑up.
• Demonstrate commitment to education and sharing of knowledge through interaction with orienting nurses, students, and pre‑hospital care providers.
• Maintain competence and current adherence to established standards of practice.

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSN) or higher preferred.
• Current, unencumbered license by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• At least 1 year of previous critical care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
