Position Summary
The Configuration Center Technician is responsible for provisioning and medium‑complexity configuration of IT devices (PCs, tablets, printers, etc.) following work instructions and quality control documents. The role may also involve repair and disposition work including end‑of‑lease processing, data erasure, rebuilds and scrapping as required.
Responsibilities- Provision, configure and repair IT devices according to detailed work instructions for deployment or processing.
- Follow established procedures for performing data destruction on IT devices.
- Unbox, re‑box and process equipment for shipping.
- Clean, test and inspect IT devices.
- Work with Supervisor or Lead to resolve high‑complexity technical issues encountered during IT device processing.
- Work with Config Center leadership to resolve complex technical issues that may occur.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Accurately provisions and configures IT devices in accordance with client work instructions, SOWs and QC requirements, delivering right‑first‑time builds within established turnaround times.
- Consistently produces work that passes internal QC and third‑party inspections while ensuring full compliance with data‑destruction procedures and maintaining accurate documentation and asset records.
- Executes unboxing, cleaning, testing, re‑boxing and shipping preparation accurately while maintaining an organized, safe, and audit‑ready workspace that supports throughput targets.
- Works effectively with Supervisors, Leads and peers by communicating blockers, risks and variances, promptly and contributing to team problem‑solving efforts.
- Demonstrates consistent attendance, punctuality, policy compliance and a professional, team‑focused approach to all assigned responsibilities.
- Proficiency using laptops, tablets and desktops.
- Proficiency using hand tools and small machinery.
- Demonstrated organization, time‑management and communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment; previous experience in medical device assembly or a similar field is preferred.
- Proficient in creating and improving documentation such as work instructions.
- Lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Vision must be fair enough under a strong light.
- May require standing for long periods and handling small components.
