Psychiatry Account Manager - Canton, OH

Target city for territory is Canton. Candidates who live within 40 miles of territory boundaries with access to a major airport will be considered. Territory boundaries include North Canton, Cambridge, Martins Ferry and Zanesville.

As a Psychiatry Account Manager, you lead the promotion of our psychiatry portfolio through sales and marketing strategies, driving sales performance.

Essential Functions
  • Business Planning & Account Leadership – Use digital tools and data-based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress, and maximize sales performance.
  • Selling – Deliver clear, compelling messages to customers, probe needs, handle objections, and close each call with a commitment to action.
  • Customer Development – Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating “total office” account management.
  • Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise – Gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
  • Reimbursement – Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using Lundbeck resources.
  • Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance – Apply knowledge of the pharmaceutical and regulatory environment, including accountability and adherence to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations regarding promotion.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience.
  • Ability to score highly on product training exams and attain annual product knowledge certification.
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and outstanding communication skills.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Residency within 40 miles of the territory boundaries.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; driving is essential.
  • Meeting and complying with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers/customer facilities.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Previous experience within a specialty product sales force.
  • Experience promoting and detailing CNS/neuroscience products (depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder).
  • Documented successful sales performance.
  • Ownership and accountability for fully integrated account plans.
  • Strong analytical background and use of sales data reporting tools.
  • Experience with product launches.
  • Experience working with alliance partners (co‑promotions).
  • Leadership through participation in committees, rotations, panels, and related activities.
Travel

Willingness/ability to travel up to 30%–40% domestically to meet and interact with the customer base and internal personnel within the assigned territory. Attend 4–8 internal/external conferences and meetings across the United States.

Compensation

Salary range: $117,000–$137,000. Eligible for a sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible PTO, medical, dental, vision, company 401(k) match, and a company car.
