Zone Mechanic I (Plumbing)

Position Summary:

Assist in facilities maintenance, construction, and general upkeep. Troubleshoot non‑complex facilities problems, provide preventive and corrective solutions. First responder to trouble calls and emergent needs. Maintain documentation, records, and reporting.

• Make repairs to general building facilities, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.
• Perform minor repairs to floors, ceilings, walls; paint and patchwork.
• Conduct regular inspections of designated facilities and equipment and report unusual problems.
• Advise management of general condition of facilities and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation and maintenance records; document actions and timekeeping in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience completing basic repairs, understanding of various trades, basic understanding of facilities components, ability to handle high‑stress situations, critical thinking, competent communication.

• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, work with hands above head.
• Work in extreme conditions (hot or cold), trenches, confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms.
• Use standard and extended ladder.
