General Responsibility

Repair and maintain vehicle fleet including lift trucks, tuggers, and propane and electric equipment, including preventive maintenance. Diesel mechanic experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain vehicle fleet including lift trucks (propane and electric) and tuggers.
  • Perform all preventive maintenance as well as breakdown services.
  • Maintain all preventive maintenance and repair records, documents, and warranties.
  • Wash vehicles as a normal portion of preventive maintenance.
  • Keep work area clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Notify supervision of vehicle abuse.
  • Assist facility maintenance whenever time permits.
  • Respond quickly to handling minor repairs (lights, horns, etc.) so that unsafe vehicles are not in operation or down for an extended period.
  • Other duties at the direction of supervisor.
Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and organization is critical.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Lift truck certified (preferred but not necessary). If not certified in lift truck, must become certified in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Diesel mechanic experience is a plus.
  • Must be self‑motivated and be able to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed to ensure vehicles are operable for peak periods.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to manage time, parts inventories, and budgetary expectations cost savings/avoidance’s.
  • Must follow all safety procedures.

Must wear/use all required PPE, to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, mechanics gloves (when required), steel toe boots, etc.
