Bus Operator (Temporary)
Position within the University of Georgia Auxiliary Transit Office. Primary responsibilities include safe operation of campus buses on routes and occasional charters, bus washing, completing assignment paperwork, and attending safety meetings. Driver must have a valid driver’s license and a Georgia Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements. Will submit to drug/alcohol testing per US DOT regulations.
Responsibilities- Safe operation of buses on route and occasional charters.
- Wash buses and perform other non‑driving related duties as needed.
- Complete paperwork associated with assignments.
- Attend safety meetings as occasionally scheduled.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Georgia Class B CDL or equivalent with air brakes and passenger endorsements.
- Positive driving record.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Physical ability to sit for long periods, push, pull, reach, and drive.
- Availability for variable hours, including weekends.
- Salary: $18.00 per hour (without CDL).
- Hours and schedule may vary and include weekends.
