Operations Manager Southwest Ohio Area
A growing transportation and logistics operation in the Southwest Ohio area is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operational performance across multiple departments and teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about operational excellence, employee development, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing transportation, warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics operations while driving safety, accountability, efficiency, and customer service performance.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operational and transportation activities
- Lead and support frontline supervisors, drivers, operational staff, and support teams
- Monitor staffing, scheduling, route efficiency, and operational performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures
- Coordinate with maintenance and shop personnel to ensure equipment and vehicle readiness
- Conduct coaching, training, team meetings, and performance discussions
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions
- Drive accountability related to attendance, productivity, safety, and service standards
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee retention initiatives
- Support leadership with reporting, continuous improvement efforts, and operational planning
- Respond to operational escalations and urgent business needs when necessary
- Foster a positive, team‑oriented, safety‑focused culture
- 5+ years of operations, logistics, transportation, warehouse, manufacturing, or fleet management experience preferred
- Prior leadership experience managing multiple teams in a fast‑paced environment required
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience managing operational metrics, productivity goals, and workforce performance
- Ability to multitask and make effective decisions under pressure
- Comfortable working with reporting systems and operational technology platforms
- Experience leading hourly employees and frontline leadership teams
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience with fleet operations or maintenance coordination
- Knowledge of DOT compliance and transportation safety standards
- Experience with route optimization or delivery operations
- Background supporting rapidly growing operations
- Ability to work in warehouse, shop, and outdoor environments as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout operational facilities for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to support operational needs outside standard business hours when necessary
