POSITION:
Academic Interventionist

LOCATION:

Penn Brook Elementary School

SUPERVISOR:
Classroom teacher and Building Principal

HOUR RATE: $32.00

START DATE:

immediate

WORK YEAR: school year days

The Academic Interventionist will be providing daily small group targeted instruction based on classroom and assessment data within our MTSS model. The interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers, curriculum coordinator, and building principal.

The successful candidate will have teaching experience and knowledge of K- 5 educational practices. Strong knowledge in mathematics at an elementary level, if preferred. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with teachers, other paraprofessionals, and service providers within the school to provide the best possible education for all students. Developing positive relationships with students and staff is at the core of what will make the candidate successful in this position.

This individual will work under the general supervision of the classroom teacher, building principal, and/or another designated administrator.

JOB REQUIRMENTS
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree preferred
  • DESE license, preferred.
  • Experiences working with children.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive & supportive relationships with students.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student(s), family, and school information.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide academic instruction to students with educational disabilities and/or learning deficits.
SALARY & BENEFITS

$ 32.00 per hour, 15 hours per week (3 days per week)

This position is NOT eligible for the Town's health insurance, contractual sick days & personal days and tuition reimbursement.

EVALUTION

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in writing by the Principal.
