Role

As a Shift Leader, you set the tone for the guests’ experience during each shift and you know that your team’s energy directly impacts everyone who walks through the front door. You have proven that you know what it takes to lead your team to ensure a smooth sailing ship.

Responsibilities
  • Play the role of Manager on Duty
  • Conduct daily lineups at least 30 minutes prior to beginning of service; prepare the team for service by briefing reservations for the evening, menu specials, limited or 86’d menu items. Use this time to motivate and inspire the team
  • Ensure that each guest has an exceptional experience dining with us
  • Document guest comments and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Oversee and support staff during service to ensure all standards are met
  • Maintain restaurant ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement; monitor food presentation and service
  • Collect cash payments, cash out drawers, and close batch at the end of the evening
Qualifications / Requirements for Success
  • 1+ year experience in restaurant management
  • Background in service/front of house preferred
  • Able to manage a wide variety of people in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
