The City of Georgetown is seeking a full-time grant writer. Under general supervision, the Grant Writer researches, prepares, and submits grant proposals to federal, state, local, and private foundation sources. The role works closely with department heads and City leadership to align funding strategies with strategic goals and capital improvement priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proposal & Application Management: Draft, edit, and submit grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, progress reports, and closeout documentation.
  • Opportunity Tracking: Monitor grant announcements, legislative funding initiatives, and maintain an organizational grants calendar.
  • Compliance & Budgeting: Ensure compliance with grant regulations and deadlines; assist finance staff with budget development, reimbursement requests, and reporting.
  • Relationship & Community Engagement: Build relationships with funding agencies and educate the public on City-funded initiatives.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year (Paid Bi-Weekly)

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Finance, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in grant writing, grant administration, fundraising, or public administration. (Experience preparing successful grant applications is preferred.)
  • Key

    Skills:

    Professional/technical writing, familiarity with online grant portals and Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and knowledge of federal/state funding programs.
