Lead Assistant​/Merchandiser

Overview

The Lead Assistant/Merchandiser will have significant involvement in managing the merchandise concession. Additionally, the role will partake in the daily operations of the golf shop, including tee sheet supervision, pace of play enforcement, supervision of outside services and staff, tournament execution, member communication, and golf instruction. In the absence of the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional, this position acts as the manager of the golf operation.

All responsibilities are carried out with a commitment to exceptional customer service and member satisfaction.

Class A or PGA Associate

Bachelors Degree preferred

2 years Private Club Experience preferred

• Manage the merchandise concession from buying to receiving and presentation
• Assist in inventory control alongside the Golf Shop manager.
• Create innovative merchandise displays and seek ways to enhance sales through promotions.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and professionally presented golf shop at all times.
• Monitor and update special orders, ensuring timely arrival and billing to member accounts
• Maintain accurate filing systems for tickets, phone messages, special orders, and vendor catalogs
• Assist in monthly inventory counts alongside the Golf Shop Manager
• Assist in managing sweeps, store credit, and gift certificate systems and ensure timely posting of all updates
• Provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis
• Communicate effectively with members and staff
• Assist in maintaining the overall appearance of the Golf Shop for members and guests
• Tournament management
• Teaching
• Be present as requested at all golf events
