Job Description: The Upper Elementary Guide is responsible for leading a Montessori classroom serving children ages 9–12 and ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with Montessori philosophy and school expectations. This role includes preparing and maintaining the classroom environment, guiding student development, partnering with families, maintaining student records, and collaborating closely with classroom support staff and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain an engaging Montessori classroom environment aligned with Montessori principles and school expectations.
• Guide students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate Montessori lessons and activities.
• Maintain accurate student records and classroom documentation.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with classroom support staff and school leadership to ensure classroom consistency and student success.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development.

Requirements –

Required:

• AMI or AMS Montessori certification for ages 6–12 preferred, or willingness to complete a MACTE‑accredited Montessori training program.
• Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic technology tools.
• Ability to meet all applicable background check and certification requirements.

Requirements – Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field.
• Prior experience in a Montessori elementary environment.
• Experience with Transparent Classroom or similar student documentation systems.
