FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
SALARY RANGE: $57,000 - $72,222 Annually
WORK DAYS: 187
STIPENDS: ONE TIME SIGN ON MATH STIPEND OF $2000 TO BE PAID AT END OF SCHOOL YEAR.

LOCATION:

GATEWAY TECH, GEORGETOWN TX

Position Summary: The teacher will monitor student learning and progress on online curriculum, support student learning through re-teaching and small group interventions, communicate student progress to parents and coordinator, differentiate instructional methodologies for individual student needs, facilitate student behaviors, and implement established campus and classroom systems. Coordinate online and blended learning

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitors students during the instructional time.
  • Evaluates student needs and develops/implements strategies for individual learners.
  • Reviews and scores assignments needing teacher review; re-teaches as necessary.
  • Reassigns quizzes, assignments, or tests as necessary and in a timely manner.
  • Provides individual assistance to students as necessary.
  • Monitors students’ adherence to daily schedule.
  • Initiates and participates in conferences with students and/or parents as necessary.
  • Records student attendance accurately and timely each period.
  • Supports and implements classroom procedures adopted by campus; uses positive behavior support strategies.
  • Implements classroom management with a positive attitude; follows the discipline sequence.
  • Supervises students during breaks and works with campus/district staff to serve all students.
  • Reports and communicates student progress to campus coordinator and parents; resolves parent/student issues timely.
  • Manages student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
  • Assists in monitoring students and creating a safe campus environment; reports to duty assignments as assigned by principal.
  • Participates in professional development and ARD meetings.
  • Compiles, maintains, and submits reports, records and documents as required; protects confidentiality of students and families.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and supports campus/district mission and policies.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures; follows chain of command and responds to supervision.
  • Demonstrates open, flexible teaching personality and initiative; maintains positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, regular attendance, and compliance with laws and policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

Required:

  • Knowledge:
    Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies for teaching Math; curriculum development and integration of technology.
  • Ability:
    Design, develop, and implement subject-area curriculum; provide engaging college-preparatory learning experiences and positive learning environment.
  • Experience:

    Successful completion of student teaching or relevant field/volunteer work.
  • Education:

    Four-year degree from an accredited college/university; valid Texas Teacher Certificate or approved alternative plan in Math with knowledge of Science; ESL certification or ability to obtain; CPR and first aid strongly desired.

Working Conditions: Duties involve walking, standing, indoors/outdoors; some lifting. Must be healthy to perform duties. Regularly lifts 1-25 pounds. Ability to tolerate stress.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $72,222 annually
