Help Lead a Thriving Montessori Community

Are you a passionate educator and natural leader who enjoys supporting teachers, building meaningful relationships with families, and creating exceptional experiences for children? Are you looking for a role where you can make an impact today while growing into greater leadership opportunities tomorrow?

If so, we would love to meet you.

Join a Growing Montessori Community

Cantera Montessori School, a private boutique Montessori preschool located on two beautiful acres of rolling Texas ranch land in Georgetown, is seeking an exceptional Assistant Head of School to help lead our growing campus community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, organized, and compassionate leader who is passionate about early childhood education and thrives in a highly collaborative environment.

As Assistant Head of School, you will partner closely with the Head of School to support the day-to-day operations of the campus while helping create an outstanding experience for every child, family, and staff member who walks through our doors.

At Cantera Montessori, we believe leadership means being present, engaged, and willing to step in wherever needed to support the success of the school community.

About the Role:

As Assistant Head of School, you will partner closely with the Head of School to support daily operations, strengthen family relationships, and ensure our classrooms and staff have everything they need to thrive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both leadership and hands-on involvement. No task is too small when it comes to supporting children, families, and teachers. Whether you're assisting with enrollment, supporting classroom transitions, helping families feel welcome, or ensuring operations run smoothly behind the scenes, you'll play a key role in the success of our school community.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is interested in building a long-term career with our organization. We believe in promoting from within and providing opportunities for talented team members to advance into school leadership positions.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with the Head of School to ensure smooth daily school operations.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families and serve as a resource throughout their Montessori journey.
  • Assist with enrollment, family onboarding, scheduling, billing, and administrative processes.
  • Help coordinate staffing and classroom coverage as needed.
  • Ensure classrooms are fully equipped with the materials and resources necessary for success.
  • Support licensing compliance, safety procedures, and school policies.
  • Step in wherever needed-from classroom support and family communication to operational tasks that keep the school running efficiently.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • The ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Confidence managing responsibilities independently while working as part of a team.
  • Experience working with technology, mobile devices, and computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting.
  • Leadership or administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Montessori experience or Montessori credentials are a significant plus.
  • Willingness to embrace Montessori philosophy and participate in Montessori training if needed.
  • ECE coursework completed or willingness to pursue required training.
The Core Traits We Value

At Cantera Montessori, we look for leaders who embody our values each day:
  • A wholehearted commitment to our motto: "Children First, Always."
  • A positive and proactive "do whatever it takes" attitude.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to support others.
  • A leadership style rooted in humility, professionalism, and leading by example.
