AVID TUTORS SUBSTITUTE - GATEWAY COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
Starting Date: Aug 18, 2026
Position: AVID Tutor/ Substitute
Reports to: Campus Administrator
Salary Range: $16.50 (first time tutor) / $17.50 (returning tutor)
Work Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 AM – 1:45 PM (September – May)
Location: Gateway College Preparatory School, Georgetown, TX
Responsibilities- Work with small groups of high school students under the supervision of an AVID teacher during the school day.
- Guide and facilitate students through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussion.
- Enrolled at a local college or university (preferred).
- No specific content knowledge required.
- Attend 16 hours of AVID tutor training held by the district in the fall and spring.
- Pass a fingerprinting and criminal history check.
- Provide own transportation to the tutoring site.
- Preferred: 1 year of tutoring experience.
- Preferred:
At least 2 years of relevant experience. - Preferred:
High school or trade school degree.
