Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $35–$40/hour — Based on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

Drive the airworthiness of a high-utilization piston training fleet through proactive maintenance and rapid-response repairs. This role requires a self-starting A&P professional who thrives on technical autonomy and takes personal pride in maintaining elite regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute full-cycle maintenance and inspections on piston-powered trainer aircraft from initial intake to final sign-off.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical discrepancies in strict alignment with FAA mandates and manufacturer data.
  • Interpret technical manuals, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives to ensure every repair meets certified standards.
  • Generate meticulous, audit-ready logbook entries and maintenance records for every service action.
  • Maintain a pristine and safety-oriented hangar environment reflecting professional shop standards.
  • Synchronize with flight operations and fellow technicians to protect the daily training schedule.
  • Adapt maintenance priorities fluidly as fleet availability and training demands shift.
  • Support 24/7 flight operations by fulfilling day or night shift assignments as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with piston-powered GA aircraft (e.g., Piper, Cirrus, Diamond).
  • Deep functional knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.
  • Capability to work independently and make definitive airworthiness determinations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to digital maintenance tracking platforms.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in environments involving fuels, noise, and outdoor exposure.
  • Willingness to work flexible 10-hour shifts, including nights.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Prior professional experience within a high-volume flight school or training fleet environment.
