About the role

The Safety Coordinator at CS Erickson plays a critical role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture within the organization. This position works closely with our safety committee, project managers, field personnel, and subcontractors to enforce effective safety programs and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities include implementing and enforcing safety policies, conducting training, performing job site audits, and mitigating risks.

This role is essential in maintaining a safe working environment and fostering continuous improvement in safety practices.

What you'll do
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, codes, and standards, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements and industry‑specific guidelines.
  • Conduct safety training programs for employees and subcontractors, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training on topics such as fall protection, electrical safety, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of job sites, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards, non‑compliance issues, and areas for improvement. Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely implementation.
  • Promptly investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and near misses. Collaborate with project teams to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement preventive measures to minimize the risk of recurrence.
  • Foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and participation in safety initiatives. Encourage employees to actively report safety concerns, hazards, and near misses.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date safety records, including training records, safety data sheets, inspection reports, incident logs, and safety program documentation. Prepare reports on safety metrics, trends, and compliance for management review.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to safety. Recommend and implement improvements to existing safety programs and initiatives based on emerging risks and technological advancements.
Required Qualifications
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on electrical service work in industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910 (General Industry), and OSHA 1926 (Construction) electrical safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, safety management software, and digital reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, coach, and enforce safety standards effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in large industrial, or semiconductor facilities is a plus.
  • 5+ years of safety coordination experience in an industrial electrical service setting.
  • Experience conducting arc flash analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and high‑voltage safety training.
