Role Overview:

The BLT(
Board Level Functional Test )Engineer owns the development, validation, release, and sustaining of Board Level Functional Test (BLT) solutions for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) supporting AI server manufacturing — including functional test strategy, test software development, fixture integration, production release, and continuous yield improvement.

Working closely with Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, this role ensures robust functional validation, manufacturing readiness, and scalable production test solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Board Level Functional Test Development

  • Define board-level functional test strategy and architecture for new AI server programs.
  • Develop, validate, and release Board Level Functional Test (BLT) programs.
  • Develop automated functional test sequences and pass/fail criteria.
  • Design, integrate, and validate functional test stations and fixtures.
  • Optimize test coverage and cycle time.
  • Support production test release and engineering documentation.

Test Software Development

  • Develop automated test applications using NI Test Stand and LabVIEW.
  • Develop software modules using Python and C/C++ where applicable.
  • Integrate instrumentation, DAQ, and communication interfaces.
  • Debug and validate test software throughout NPI and production.

Hardware Validation

  • Validate board functionality including power sequencing, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, NVMe, BIOS, BMC, and firmware.
  • Support board bring-up and engineering validation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software related failures.
  • Validate coolant distribution unit (CDU), cold plate, and manifold/QD integration on board-level test stations.
  • Support leak detection and coolant pressure/flow validation during functional test.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-cold-plate test sequencing with Mechanical/Thermal Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot thermal and liquid-cooling-related failures during board bring-up and functional validation.

Production & NPI Support

  • Support EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot builds, and production ramp.
  • Support ECO implementation and product revisions.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing during production.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone methodologies.
  • Drive First Pass Yield (FPY), yield, and cycle time improvements.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 3-5+ years of experience developing board-level functional test solutions in high-volume electronics manufacturing (E3); 6+ years, including multi-program or cross-site scope, for E4.
  • Experience with AI servers, networking, or enterprise computing platforms preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with NI Test Stand, LabVIEW, PXI instrumentation, and automated functional test systems.
  • Experience validating liquid-cooled (LC) server platforms, including CDU, cold plate, and coolant hardware, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions and communicate effectively with Product Design, NPI, and manufacturing leadership.
  • Experience with data analysis/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
