As a Mechanical Design Engineer at ZT Systems, you will play a key role in the design and validation of mechanical assemblies used in our high-performance computer servers. This position is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited about innovative, large-scale hardware development.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop innovative mechanical components and assemblies.
- Create 3D-printed prototypes to support iterative design and testing.
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing and field installation or retrofit activities.
- Analyze technical issues and implement timely, cost-effective solutions.
- Generate engineering documents including drawings, manuals, and other technical deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Interface directly with customers and suppliers to define mechanical requirements.
- Support time-sensitive development initiatives alongside systems and development engineering teams.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives for process, quality, and cost improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical and structural design.
- Familiarity with materials including metals, alloys, and plastics.
- Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing (e.g., stamping, injection molding, sheet metal, die-cutting).
- Proficiency with Creo is highly preferred; experience with other 3D CAD systems will be considered.
- Skilled in DFM, DFA, and statistical tolerance analysis.
- Experience with structural FEA (e.g., Creo Simulate) is a plus.
- Knowledge of computer hardware industry is desirable.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and adaptability skills.
