Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Field Supervisor, responsible for identifying and reserving polling sites, including ensuring locations are in compliance with the American with Disability Act (ADA). Ensures polling locations follow the Texas Election Code for early voting and election day. Creates reports detailing all findings and suggested remediation measures. ADA surveys will include measurements of both indoor and outdoor aspects of a polling location.

ADA surveys will include measurements of both indoor and outdoor aspects of a polling location.

EXAMPLES

OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Oversees the surveying of potential election polling sites
  • Collaborates with other department staff to secure polling locations
  • Collaborates with election parties, elected officials, and state entities on compliance with placement of election polling locations
  • Utilizes Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software to identify and locate polling locations within Williamson County
  • Conducts analysis to ensure polling locations are ADA compliant
  • Maintains and updates polling location databases and management systems
  • Serves as primary contact for potential polling locations
  • Processes and maintains polling location rental agreements
  • Creates and maintains polling locations contact sheets
  • Collaborates with the Operations Supervisor to schedule logistical and equipment deliveries
  • Coordinates and reserves various polling locations for early voting and Election Day in compliance with SB 924
  • Conducts analysis and research to determine the number of polling locations needed to accommodate election participation
  • Collaborates with leadership on determining election equipment, and furniture needs for polling locations
  • Prepares and tracks various financial documents associated with reservations, recruitment, and polling location costs
  • Develops marketing and communication materials for polling locations
  • Serves as a primary contact for the election Judge’s hotline and assists with complex issues from elections judges and staff
  • Cross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
  • Communicates frequently via telephone, e‑mail, and in person with poll workers and the general public
  • Monitors multiple departmental email accounts relating to polling locations
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, and operating equipment
  • Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Work is primarily indoors in an air‑conditioned environment
  • May be required to perform some work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet conditions)
  • Regular travel between work sites as required
IRREGULAR HOURS
  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday‑Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in in Government, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field and one (1) year of coordinating experience including recruiting and onboarding; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance and Texas Election Code
