Summary
The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing group and/or individual psychotherapy and psycho educational services to clients, either in person or through virtual platforms. In addition to direct care, the therapist supports other aspects of treatment and service delivery in accordance with their professional licensure. This role emphasizes ethical practice, clinical excellence, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, client-centered care.
Education & Experience LPC/LCSW- A master’s degree in social work, human development, psychology, counseling, or behavioral science from an accredited college or university.
- Has met state licensing requirements for LPC or LCSW and is actively licensed to practice.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical assessment & diagnosis, focusing on treating and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges.
- Willingness to pursue certification in valued treatment modalities.
- Active CPR Certification
- Must have a master’s degree in social work, psychology, human development, counseling or behavioral science field from an accredited college or university.
- Must be actively licensed in the State to provide clinical care, treatment, and services.
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in clinical assessment & diagnosis with a focus on the treatment and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges.
- Will be required to participate in active supervision toward advanced clinical licensure with an LCSW-S or LPC-S, if applicable.
- Active CPR Certification
- Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
- Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
- Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
- Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
- Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
- Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
- Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
- Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
- Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Provide individual, couple, group and family psychotherapy for clients requesting services.
- Document all clinical encounters with individuals, couples, families, and groups clearly, timely and concisely, demonstrating the therapeutic process.
- Demonstrate ongoing evaluation of clients’ diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, strengths, and opportunities for growth.
- Evaluate clients’ progress using identified outcome measures and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Provide psychotherapy sessions for clients in PHP/IOP programming, as needed.
- Develop and review the discharge plan with the client and family, if appropriate, per the discharge planning policy (MH CS 007).
- Demonstrate an understanding of utilization review issues, criteria for continued stay, and discharge.
